About the Role

Plans, supports, and implements total quality programs.  Designs, specifies, and installs quality control sampling systems, testing mechanisms, and equipment.  Formulates and/or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures and development of quality standards. 

Your Responsibilities

Provides quality engineering support to assure that customer issues are appropriately championed for quick, accurate issue resolution and customer satisfaction with Magna Electronics’ response.

Plans, supports, and implements total quality programs utilizing customer specific requirements concerning APQP, FMEA’s Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Statistical Techniques & PPAP’s.  Defines scope, plans, organizes, leads and directs technical work and departmental efforts related to quality engineering activities for new and existing programs.

Responsible to assure that quality systems meet or exceed IATF16949 standards within the division.

Designs, specifies, and installs quality control sampling systems, testing mechanisms, and equipment.  Formulates and/or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures and development of quality standards.    

Serves as a liaison and coordinates activity of internal and external resources.  Serves as a resource by providing a problem solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered and prevent potential quality problems.

Investigates and solves manufacturing-related problems in assigned area using formal problem-solving tools. 

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Who we are looking for

Strong communication, ability to lead and manage several large and complex projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others through support, training, etc. 

Ability to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization.  Able to represent the company in a professional manner with customers and suppliers.

Ability to thoroughly research, recommend, and oversee implementation of new products, materials, processes, etc. and present information.

Prior experience with IATF 16949 processes

Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process submissions, Geometric Dimensions & Tolerancing, Flow Diagrams, FMEA’s, Control Plans, Statistics, and fixture development based on part GD&T

Demonstrated ability to use basic measurement tools (height gauge, vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, indicator, etc) 

Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis using various problem solving techniques including Drill Deep, 8D, 5 Phase.

Ability to communicate to all levels of plant personnel with ease

Good organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills.  Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team.

Ability to coordinate and facilitate cross-functional team meetings

Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs

Your preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of quality experience, with an understanding of advanced quality engineering practices, principles, and processes.
  • Minimum 5-7 years diverse professional experience including strategic decision making within a manufacturing environment.
